A tribute on the occasion of the International Yoga day

Guru Swarup finds a Yogic life in MF Hussain. Even at the age of 96, the maestro used to drive his car and paint for hours. While narrating the simple lifestyle of the master painter, Guru Swarup remembered the advice of the master. MF Hussain always sat in a “Brajrasana” posture while painting. The master opined that this was a perfect posture for painting as it keeps the body in shape even if when a painter was sitting for hours in a place. According to Guru Swarup who knew the master painter closely, MF Hussain was very down to earth person with no inhibition or pride. In fact, being humble and simple in every aspect of life is what Indian culture teaches us. MF Hussain believed that principle and followed it throughout his lifetime.

Guru Swarup Srivastava believes in this principle too. Being a successful industrialist, he could have led a lavish life but he prefers simplicity and gives priority to philanthropy. He never lives any occasion to come forward for any social cause or helping others who really deserve it.

MF Hussain’s mantra to active life

If you are sitting in “Brajrasana” you’ll not feel exhausted. This was what the master painter believed. There is a strong science in the Indian form of Yoga. Being too close to MF Hussain, Guru Swarup knew the master’s awareness of Yoga. This is what interested Guru Swarup. Perhaps, this was the key behind the long and active life of MF Hussain. Even at 96, he could work for hours without rest.
